Atlantic Immigration Program
The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) provides a pathway to permanent residence for skilled workers and international graduates who want to live and work in one of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces—New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland & Labrador.
How it works:
Get a job offer from a designated employer in one Atlantic province.
Receive a provincial endorsement, which certifies your job offer and settlement plan.
Apply for PR, submitting your endorsement, job offer, documents, and forms like IMM 0155 checklist and IMM 5501.
Optional work permit – You may get a temporary work permit valid only for the hiring employer, allowing you to work while your PR is processed. Your spouse may be eligible for an open work permit.
Proof of funds – Unless you already work in Canada, you must show sufficient money based on family size. Updated July 29, 2025.
Why this might be your path:
Great for recent graduates from Atlantic institutions or skilled workers with job offers in the region.
Employers and provinces support your settlement journey from day one.
Your spouse and family can benefit from work rights while you wait.
At Nivara Immigration, we help you secure a job offer, obtain your provincial endorsement, navigate permit options, and submit your PR application.
